The International Office (Akademisches Auslandsamt) is one of the university’s administrative departments and is the central coordination and service unit managing all aspects of Saarland University’s international relations and activities. It serves as the contact point for international students, postgraduate students and visiting scholars. The International Office also provides UdS students and staff with information on organizing and financing a period of study, teaching or research at a foreign institute of higher education. The International Office also manages the international exchange programmes (such as the European Socrates/Erasmus schemes) and the university’s academic partnerships. It is also the main contact whenever university management or the faculties and departments require information on international issues.
Applications from international students, who would like to pursue a course of study at Saarland University that is not part of an exchange programme, and their registration/enrolment at UdS are handled by the relevant university department (see: international study and research programmes) and the Admissions Office respectively.
